We are so excited to share with you an outcome of our COVID experience. If you've seen the videos from our Atelier in our YouTube Channel, you would've noticed that there are excess amounts of fabric that are produced during the fabric cutting process. No matter how much we try to optimise the layout of the cutting, we cannot avoid producing these scrap fabrics. In addition to these, some fabric pieces do not pass our quality control process, and therefore, end up not being used for making our underwear products. Our factory always tries to repurpose any excess fabric into other reusable items (wash cloths, hand towels, mops, anything you can think of).
Shortage of medical grade masks globally in the early days of COVID made us recognise a new way to upcycle our excess fabric: our team started making masks with the leftover pieces. After numerous iterations that the team went through (see below photo) we came up with the most ergonomic mask that fits well yet does not require adjustments, thanks to the stretchy and breathable micromodal fabric. With that, FANCIES Fashion Face Masks were born!
Well-tried and tested! Our team went through many iterations of masks to make sure they fit perfectly and are comfortable.
Our masks are 2-ply, reusable and last wash after wash, thanks to the shimmery micromodal material that retains its shape, unlike a cotton or linen alternative. We package the masks in clear bags for you to store your masks in when you're not wearing them. For the style conscious - our animal prints are for you! Our masks are stylish and fashionable, they fit the face well, they're soft so you can wear them for prolonged periods. Our customers tell us that the masks are especially great in office - some say they hardly notice that they're wearing the masks!
To care for your mask, please wash with warm water and soap daily after use. Please note that our masks are not intended for medical use. They are intended for general, non-medical purposes. They are also not intended for use by health care professionals or for use in a health care facility or environment. In circumstances where medical-grade Personal Protective Equipment is recommended, you should consult a health care professional. The decision to use our masks is solely your own. As with all our products, due to hygiene and safety reasons, masks sold are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Having said that, micromodal and other fabric masks, especially those that have two or more layers, can provide protection, according to this study by University of Cambridge, UK, compared to not wearing a mask at all. So please wear a mask and protect yourself and your loved ones.
